Minimum Functional Objectives (MFO) – capital efficient decision-making
A Workshop by Brian Putt and Audrey Del Vescovo
About this Workshop
Investing to maximize profit, capture upside opportunities and mitigate risk can lead to large projects with unjustified complexity and scope. This can have the unintended consequence of destroying the very value we are trying to capture. Applying Minimum Functional Objectives (MFO) can help mitigate this risk by simplifying the complex and bringing transparency to the value proposition.
MFO is a bottom-up, value-focused, cost-disciplined approach to decision-making that unpacks decisions and drives higher decision quality. Chevron uses this proven approach as their primary methodology for conducting decision and risk analysis. In this presentation, Brian Putt and Audrey Del Vescovo will use a case study to demonstrate the application of MFO and tackle some frequently asked questions.
