Cognitive Empowerment in Risk Management: Enabling and Embracing Human Insight
A Workshop by Marcus Dimbleby and Ellie Cloke
About this Workshop
Join us for a transformative experience in the workshop titled "Cognitive Empowerment in Risk Management: Enabling and Embracing Human Insight" at RAW2023. Risk management has never been more critical. Yet, amidst the complexity, the most effective tool we have at our disposal is often overlooked: our own brain. This workshop takes you on a journey to unlock the enormous potential of cognitive empowerment in risk management.
We'll start by exploring the psychology behind risk perception and decision-making. You'll learn about the deceptive ways cognitive biases can affect our assessment of risk and the decisions that follow. The workshop then transitions into the practical aspects, where you'll dive into exercises that introduce effective cognitive tools for assessing risk, making informed decisions, and solving problems. The aim is not only to provide you with these tools but also to teach you how to engage your brain to make risk management a default state.
But the workshop is not just about theory. We also believe in the power of practice. Therefore, we will engage in various activities designed to help you shift your mindset towards seeing risk not as a threat, but as an opportunity for growth and improvement. Real-world case studies will illustrate the impact of cognitive empowerment in effective risk management, serving as practical examples of how a mind that thinks effectively 'wins.'
